Why see a woman's shadow in a dream?

If you dream of the shadow of a woman, you will meet a person who can become a good friend. In him you will find a kindred spirit and support in all the difficulties of life. Together you can overcome all obstacles and achieve a common goal. It is possible that over time the friendship will develop into stronger feelings, but this is not necessary.

The shadow of a person is the dreamer’s soul and its characteristic appearance or the soul of another person living in him, if it is someone else’s shadow (the dreamer’s dark double), rumor, opinion about the person, the prototype of the soul, body, etc.

To see a strange shadow, not to have a shadow in a dream - to show callousness, to be on the verge of death.

To see another without a shadow - he will play an extraordinary role in your life, in a very terrible dream: the news of his serious illness or death.

Your shadow lives and moves on its own, independently of you - a protest of conscience against your behavior, the awakening in you of forces hostile to your self.

Having a red, spotted or green shadow is an ominous sign for health. An ominous sign for the moral assessment of your actions and their consequences.

To have a fiery shadow glowing brightly in the darkness means the life of the soul is more active than the life of the body, mysterious glory, strange honor.

To cast a dark shadow on the fire means an unusually intense spiritual life awaits, but there will be a lot of spontaneous and uncontrollable things in it.

Seeing a halo around your shadow means something new is awakening in you.

To have a very short shadow and it does not lengthen means your weak spiritual activity, showing cowardice.

It is grandiose, unusual in size - extremely significant consequences of actions to which you may not attach much importance, someone is closely watching you, your bad character traits have intensified

Having a lot of shadows means gossip about you.

To be afraid of your shadow is to be amazed at your actions or their incredible consequences; it is in vain to try to drown out the voice of conscience within yourself.

Having a shadow without a head is an ominous sign for health; your enemy is hiding in you.

Having a shadow without hands means harm from inactivity.

To have a shadow without legs means that people have a bad opinion of you and acquire dangerous power.

To see the shadow of another with horns is a coercion on his part to test, in vain to slander him.

To have a shadow with a tail - your secret vices are revealed against your will.

Your shadow is harmed - by the evil eye, by the heavy hand of someone you know, by becoming an object of witchcraft.

Having a shadow that is too thin means poor health.

To have a very thick shadow is to immerse yourself in a sensual life, to become a miser.

Seeing a Shadow in a dream

In general, seeing a shadow in a dream means doing something inappropriate and fearing retribution for it. If you saw in a dream that on a hot summer day you took refuge in the shade to rest, then in life you will get rid of worries, sadness, and gain profit, fame, peace and wealth. For a woman in a dream, a shadow symbolizes her husband. If an unmarried girl hides in the shadows, she will soon get married. Whoever sees in a dream that, feeling a chill in the shade, he comes out into the sun, he will get rid of poverty.

Interpretation of dreams from the Family Dream Book

Meaning of dreams Shadow

The dream in which you saw a shadow was possibly caused by the work of your subconscious, which transformed well-known expressions into a visual image: “Cast a shadow on the fence” (give deliberately false information) or “Follow someone like a shadow” (persistently follow someone under the influence of feelings).

They also say: “He has changed so much, he has become just like a shadow” (if a person has become haggard or thin because of worries).

The world of shadows in our minds is associated with some kind of mystery and slight fear and reverence. Usually they say about a cowardly person: “He is afraid even of his own shadow.”

In ancient times, the shadow was considered an extension of a person, so if a slave accidentally stepped on the shadow of his master, he was immediately executed without hesitation.

If you dreamed that some object casts a completely unusual shadow that does not correspond to its shape, then this means that you are communicating with a two-faced person, you trust someone who not only does not respect you, but is also ready to commit meanness.

If this dream causes you fear, it means that you know this person, but you do not want to believe yourself and continue to assure yourself of his sincerity and devotion to you.

If such a dream surprised you, then this is a sign that you will soon stop communicating with this slippery person and save yourself from trouble.

Seeing your shadow in a dream is a good dream that promises you support and good luck in the near future.

If you dreamed of a person, like a Vampire, who leaves no shadow, then this is a warning that you will have a conversation with an unpleasant person or receive unpleasant news from the lips of a stranger.

A dream in which an object or person casts four shadows foreshadows some important event in your life, a turning point, after which not only your life, but also you yourself will change.

Seeing in a dream how a moving object leaves behind a motionless shadow is a sign of stagnation and monotony that await you in the near future.

Interpretation of dreams from the Dream Book of the ancient Slavs

Why do you dream about the Shadow?

The shadow is a symbol, possibly caused by the work of your subconscious, which has converted ideas about a person into a visual image (the shadow is considered an extension of the person). To see that a person does not cast a shadow or that it does not correspond to his shape means that you are communicating with a two-faced person who can commit meanness. Seeing your shadow in a dream means that you rely only on yourself and your own strength. To dream that a moving object leaves a motionless shadow is a sign of stagnation and monotony in your business.

Interpretation of dreams from

Seeing your shadow in a dream means receiving a warning about the duplicity of the person with whom you want to start a risky business. Think twice, weigh your options, listen to the advice of modern dream books, and only then invest in large projects if you dream of the shadow of an inanimate object - a house, tree or pole.

New opportunities from the world of shadows

The outline of a person in a dream symbolizes his soul. Depending on the earthly developments of the soul, the contours may appear white or black. Dream books recommend staying on guard if you see a dark reflection in a dream. Perhaps this is not the best period of life, although you should not be discouraged - the shadow will always turn in the direction you go. Therefore, you make the choice yourself.

Seeing the bright outlines of people is a sign of a strong act that will glorify you. The brighter the shadow in a dream, the more unexpected the situation will be in which you will become a winner. Miller's dream book states that attentiveness and prudence will help you get out of any situation in the coming days.

Success in love or a shadow of mistrust

Having sex with a shadow in a dream is not a very good sign, especially if it was the silhouette of a man. Freud's dream book says that you are very complex. Did you dream of someone else's unfamiliar image? Be afraid of betrayal, or better yet, try to prevent it. In the near future, the chances of losing your partner are especially high. And, if you dream of your husband’s shadow, try to trust him as much as possible in reality, otherwise, with your nagging you can destroy even the strongest bonds.

Good luck in love matters awaits a woman who dreamed of someone else's shadow on the wall. According to the dream book, the features and contours that a person reflects can tell about his future romantic relationships. The higher the silhouette of a man or husband in a dream, the more generous and affectionate the beloved will be in the coming days.

Scary visions and ghosts of the subconscious

If you dream that you had to hide at night from the black shadow of an unfamiliar man, dark entities, or even the devil himself, do not rush to get upset. In traditional dream books you can find warnings about treacherous neighbors or slanderers. It is enough to rethink your behavior in reality and stop communicating with people around whom you feel discomfort.

The shadows of a flying bird or parts of a person's body, for example, arms, heads, moving towards you can be interpreted as the beginning of a disease. If you have dreams like this, rush to see a doctor for an examination; even ordinary preventive measures will not harm your health.

Shadow Protectors

Seeing a black image of an animal in a dream, its silhouette is a good sign. Usually people who need protection dream about this. Be sure that at the right time you will meet a specialist who will help in a difficult matter: be it a lawyer, financier, doctor or other professional. Especially if you dreamed of the face of a wolf, a bear, or another large and intelligent animal.

People's profiles are not so positive. But one’s own shadow, and not someone else’s, as dream books testify, can warn of the beginning of a series of trials and difficulties that can be overcome by realizing the mistakes of the past.

Alexander Reply

The problem with the shadow lies in the fact that it can also include habits that are normal from the point of view of society, but incompatible with the environment where you are comfortable living or where you were raised. For example, the generosity of a child with very thrifty parents. Among delinquent (violating social norms) teenagers, each of them is highly likely to have respect for elders, obedience, etc. in the shadow.

Lena Reply

(from the translit) I want to add to the discussion about the black light. If you remember, in one of the German woman’s dreams there is a woman in black and a veil on her fox, but in that dream she symbolized the dreamer’s intuition. (according to your interpretations) it is interesting that she also carried the characteristics of a shadow , in my opinion (in my dreams, a woman in black and with a veil was something evil and frightening). But her transformation into intuition is interesting. There are similar cases - very often I dreamed of two naked girls, very vulgar and unpleasant, to also aggressive (Amazons). And the impression from sleep is always unpleasant. One of them, for example, got down on all fours and gave birth to a spear (horror and nonsense) then I didn’t know that I was facing my own shadow. And apparently, my repressed qualities - this is aggression. but the thing is this. one day I had a dream about these unpleasant girls, and the two of them simultaneously and slowly point their fingers at the lower abdomen, as if on purpose so that I would remember. The feeling is again very unpleasant... and after a few days My daughter discovered problems in this part of her abdomen, I was terribly worried, even my legs went numb from the worry... but everything worked out. The dream was of course a warning, but how is another question. I could somehow detect problems in my daughter’s body. In general, that’s not the point important. The main conclusion is that the shadow can act as intuition and predictor, it turns out. We need to find confirmation.

Alexander Reply

Interesting connection. But I think that the shadow whores pointed not to your daughter’s problems, but to your sexual problems, which are typically concentrated in the lower abdomen, in the pubic area. At this time, these aspects have their center of gravity in the shadow part of the personality, and, apparently, the time for their psychological elaboration is approaching. Therefore, an activating dream appears [while the two of them simultaneously and slowly point a finger at the lower abdomen, as if on purpose]. The coincidence with the daughter’s situation is emotionally understandable, although it is a typical rationalizing trick of Egg, avoiding the painful process of confronting unpleasant ideas.

Lena Reply

(from the translit) yes, of course, sex and aggression are connected to each other, so the two of them could end up in the shadows. The spear could even be a phallic symbol. As we say in one of the last dreams in the collection (the author is a homologist) the dreamer puts a knife in the buttock of another person .it seems these symbols are not in the dictionary, I hope that someday there will be enough material to add them there. By the way, I would also like to see the symbol - forest. There are many clues from folk tales (besides dreams)

1. "SHADOW - denotes the unconscious opposite of what the individual persistently affirms in his consciousness." Does this mean “unconscious” opposition? Yes, we mean “unconscious” opposition. But only that which exists in the personality, and not the opposite in the abstract sense of the word. Certain qualities of a person in the process of development fall into disgrace with the ego-image formed by the environment and parents, and therefore become shadow. Of course, most often there are truly socially negative qualities such as greed, cowardice, laziness, etc., but upon a broader consideration of them and ignoring “sociality,” it turns out that any of these “negative” qualities carries a positive meaning for the individual himself (according to the ones I cited - accumulation, avoidance of the threatening, ignoring the superpossible for the individual at the moment, etc., according to the principle of positive interpretation).

In general, all these shadows, animuses and animas are very conventional things. Those. You can’t touch them with your hands, you can’t measure them with a ruler, and in general, go figure out where they are and what they are, and I, as a non-specialist, speak about them very carefully. As far as I understand, the shadow is not a complex, but a normal part of the human psyche. It’s like if there is an object and light is directed at it, that is, shadow too. The object in this case is the conscious Ego, and the shadow is everything suppressed, animal, dark, in short, located in the shadow, like the other side. There is no way to get rid of it, you can only become aware of it. If a person stubbornly denies the presence of such a dark side, this leads to mental disorders and disharmony. And vice versa, if a person surrenders to the power of his own shadow, he turns into an animal. In short, you need to recognize the shadow and live in harmony with it, but not allow it too much 80) That’s how I understand it. Again, let the oracles correct me if anything is wrong.

Hello, dear Yaroslav and Arseny.
Based on a dream I had today, I would like to ask questions.
So. My girlfriend invited me to her place. We go with her into the elevator of her building to go up to the very top floor - where she lives. The elevator goes up, my friend says something, I note to myself that the ascent takes a very long time. I look up and see that the movement in the elevator is driven by a burning flame like a gas burner. Those. the flame is related to something outside the cabin. Then fear comes over me and I begin to wait for some kind of accident, because... the connection, in my opinion, is not reliable, the wick of the flame may go out and then... Then I remember that Galya, my friend, when entering the elevator, brought the lighter to that place, I just didn’t focus my attention on it. In fright, I ask: “Will everything be okay?”, and she answers: “Usually everything is fine.” Here I am completely horrified by her answer - “How is it “usual”, but if we break up, then even if it’s normal for a hundred years, then nothing will change for us!” And she looks so calm, as if for her such excesses are just incidents from her life, she looks calmly at this burner and waits. Here we reach her floor and calmly exit the elevator.
I go out onto the roof of the house, the city lies below, I lie down helplessly on the concrete floor and think with horror how I will go down and I also think that because of this terrible elevator I will no longer be able to come to her, but here in my A memory arises in my head of the stairs and the fact that I can go up and down them. Yes, one more moment. I was so frightened by this elevator that I was not at all frightened by the height from which I looked down on the city.
Now the question(s):
1. "SHADOW - denotes the unconscious opposite of what the individual persistently affirms in his consciousness."
Does this mean “unconscious” opposition?
I just began to pull out all sorts of secrets from myself and among them there was one that I doubt in response to the offer made to me recently to talk with a person here about working for me. Those. I seem “raw” to myself, although at the same time I understand that this will be the case until you start doing things.
Question_2: The shadow is not afraid of death? What is death for a shadow (if there is one)?
The role of the shadow is that of a compensator, i.e. balance of us?
Question_3: What will happen to the shadow (answer - he will find another job) if it is illuminated all the time? So, does the shadow come out more progressive than I (Ego), if it is not afraid of such things or do we have different reasons for fear?
And one last thing. I didn’t understand about the elevator’s operating mechanism.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Good questions. Arseny is dealing with dreams that he accumulated earlier, so for now only I will answer.
2. The shadow is not afraid of death? What is death for a shadow (if there is one)? — The psyche is not afraid of death at all. At least, observation of the psyche of very old people or those preparing for death has not revealed any preparations/signs other than those typical of the individuation process. On the one hand, this led to bewilderment among researchers, and on the other hand, it gave rise to speculation that if physical death, more precisely, the death of the physical body, is not something so important for the psyche, then there is something that we do not know.
The role of the shadow is not so much a compensator as a certain source of the “other”, but also a typical response to a particular situation for the personality as a whole.
3. What will happen to the shadow (the answer is that he will find another job) if it is illuminated all the time? — probably, you shouldn’t approach the issue of the shadow so literally [illuminate the shadow]. I find it difficult to imagine the process of “lighting the shadow.” Illumination of the shadow indicates awareness of some unpleasant quality, and awareness raises the question of “how much does this apply to me” and the readiness to accept it in oneself.
Does it turn out to be more progressive than I (Ego) if she is not afraid of such things or do we have a different reason for fear? hardly more progressive, rather new for the personality with which the ego-image identifies itself. The shadow has its fears, but we often do not know the shadow itself, not to mention its subtle experiences.
In a dream, you need to pay attention to your distrust of feelings and attraction to rationalizations. Therefore, a magical elevator that moves with some magic makes you afraid. The symbolism of fire is related to emotions, affects, but also to the sensual, about which they say that it “burns like fire” [lighters and burners]. It is on this mechanics that the elevator operates. But you would like it to work mechanically, i.e. rationally, “as is customary.”

MY DREAM: I HAVE BEEN SAVED ALL NIGHT FROM SOME SHADOWS (LIKE PEOPLE, BUT LIKE NOT). I KILLED THEM WITH SOME STRANGE WEAPONS THAT I HAVE ONLY SEEN IN FANTASTIC MOVIES. IT FEEL LIKE I WAS INTO A COMPUTER GAME (THOUGH I HAVE NEVER PLAYED A GAME LIKE THIS). Moreover, IN MY DREAM THERE WERE OTHER PEOPLE WHO ALSO SAVED FROM THESE SHADOWS, BUT ONLY I KILLED THEM. FINALLY, I KILLED THEM ALL AND WOKE UP WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE. I HAVE OFTEN DREAMED SIMILAR DREAMS (THE SORT OF ACTION MOVIE WITH A HAPPY ENDING) IN THE BEFORE, I HAVE DREAMED NOTHING AT ALL IN LATE TIME AND HERE AGAIN... HOW TO UNDERSTAND THIS? WHY I'M 24 YEARS OLD, I'M MARRIED AND RAISING A LITTLE DAUGHTER.

I dreamed of a strange dark, slippery shadow man who was trying to get into our house. My husband and I wanted to stop him, but he was nimble, slippery and seeped through the thinnest cracks. We managed to grab him, he wriggled free, and I tried to twist his arms behind his back and wrap them with a bandage. In general, we connected him. But I was always afraid that he would break free and then we would be in terrible danger. Interpretation: the house is a personality structure, the shadow man is the suppressed, repressed, which is trying to penetrate consciousness. However, the man was unfamiliar to me, which means most likely an aspect of the unconscious-unknown, with signs of the chthonic, even somewhat feminine - to the touch his skin was wet and slippery, cool and wrinkled, he was constantly changing shape - now he stretched out almost into a string, then blurred. I already once saw this creature in a dream - the feeling from him of something completely alien, not from this world. Returning to the analysis - something deep, of a chthonic nature, is trying to penetrate into consciousness, and I am vigorously repressing it, trying to bind it, that is, to force it into shape, to stop it and to force it into an image.

AnaLitik Reply

I will use my role to explain to those who are encountering the word “chthonic” for the first time what it means. "Chthon" is "earth". Therefore, “chthonic entities” are creatures allegedly generated by the deep depths of the human psyche, mythological images simultaneously associated with creation and destruction, positive and negative effects on people.

The plot of the dream is built on defense, defense against the attack of the “shadow man”. If we leave philosophical considerations aside for now, a simple reading of the dream will be something like this: “My body is fighting an infection” or “My mind is fighting the invasion of negative tendencies.” I am of the belief that the human psyche is initially - by design - pure and perfect. Everything that pollutes it is a historical “infection”. In this sense, mythological thinking is also a certain infection, and what Jung classified as “archetypes” are ancient stereotypes from which one must, sooner or later, as one develops, protect oneself. That is, archetypes are not generated by the deep depths of the human psyche. Archetypes are historical errors with which these depths were seeded a day ago or ten thousand years ago. Of course, first you need openness to admit these mistakes, and then you need to disidentify with it and distance yourself from it. In general, the most radical doctrine that the human mind in a certain historical era became the object of active manipulation by non-human forces is set out by Menegetia in the book “Monitor of Deviations in the Human Psyche.” Against this background, other schools of psychotherapy appear to be schools of compromise. But for many, many, these compromises are still very, very appropriate.

The same thing can happen in the middle of the night. When this happened before, I fell asleep again quite normally. In official medicine, these “dreaming visions” belong to the realm of hallucinations and are called “hypnogogic hallucinations.” If you assume that these shadows reflect some external reality, then the following tips can help you: “Sometimes a person can see vague silhouettes that, like moving electrons, suddenly appear and disappear. These are either real extraterrestrial entities, or those ghostly entities that have inhabited our planet for centuries. In such a case, first of all, you should turn on the light, since they cannot tolerate it. Then the person needs to strengthen his personal presence and existential composure: “This is my home, my reality!” Go to hell all of you". The subject must not only pronounce these words, but do it with pride, with emotional uplift, thereby proving his strength, confidence, and identity of possession. With strong-willed inflexibility, he begins to fill the atmosphere with his mental aggressiveness, intolerable for these entities.” Details in the book by A. Meneghetti “Image and the Unconscious”, p. 169.
